A majority of people residing in belgaon belongs to maratha community and hence a group of thoughtful people of maratha community came up with a thought of building a convention (karyalay) center for the same community upliftment and thus a committee was setup in the year 1989. With endless effort of the committee members along with the help and support of community people in the year 2009 Shahapur Maratha Sanskrutik Bhavan was built in a land of 10 gunthas and made available for the people at Mahatma Phule Road, Shahapur, Belgaon.

बेळगाव शहरामध्ये बहुजन समाज मोठ्या प्रमाणात असल्याने समाजासाठी एखादे समाजाचे कार्यालय असावे ह्या विचाराने समाजातील विचारवंत एकत्र येऊन १९८९ साली संघटनेची स्थापना झाली.
संचालकांच्या अतोनात परिश्रम तसेच समाजाच्या सहकार्यातून २००९ साली महात्मा फुले रोड वर शहापूर येथे १० गुंठे जागेमध्ये शहापूर मराठा सांस्कृतिक भवन ह्या नावाने लोकांना उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आले.
- वधु वर तसेच पाहुणे मंडळीना स्वतंत्र राहण्याची सोय.
- कार्यालयाला तिन्ही बाजूने रस्ता असल्याने पार्किंगची सोय.
- सात स्वतंत्र खोल्यांची सर्व सोयींनी उपलब्धता.
- वयोवृद्ध तसेच अपंगाना व्हीलचेअर आत नेण्याची सोय.
- कार्यालय मध्यवर्ती असल्याने सर्वांना सोयीस्कर.
- वीज गेल्यास जनरेटरची सोय.
- स्वतंत्र जेवण्याची सोय.
- चारशे खुर्च्यांची सोय.
- दोन हजार लोकांसाठी स्वयंपाकाची भांडी.
- सजावटीसाठी कार्यालयाशी संपर्क साधा.
- सामाजिक बांधिलकी जोपासणारी संस्था.
